A View from the Point:
Manager’s Perspective

The View 12-21-07

Many positive things have taken place since our last commentary here. One of our primary goals was to get this website up and running. Bob Clancy, our Webmaster, has done a fine job building the foundation and putting forth the necessary information. This only had to be completed once and now can be maintained and edited very easily.

Where are we now? Well, we have been working making contact with the many clubs around the US, as well as numerous individuals. I can tell you that the response has been great; people have been enthusiastic and willing to offer assistance. We are in the process of adding to our sponsor’s list and continuing to get the word out.

The most significant progress has been the signing of a Title sponsor. This is something that was very important to accomplish and sets the stage for future sponsorship opportunities. We are very fortunate to have Specialty Welding Machine, located in Pampa, Texas to support us. The owners, Sid and Dawna Mauldin, have graciously contributed a substantial sum to our TDN effort. This contribution is in line with the Title sponsor’s role outlined in the sponsorship page. The team name and continued effort will now be referred to as the SWM/NATC Trial des Nations Team. This corporate sponsorship is in line with the current trend in marketing that is now prevalent in many different sporting venues. Specialty Welding Machine will have the option to use this name in advertising and for their business development needs.

We are very excited to be working with Sid and Dawna. They are long time Trials supporters and have many good ideas that will help us to definitely achieve our Team goals. It was important to put this deal together as it has been a huge boost to our supporting fund. It also raises our level of professionalism and our ability to attain the objective of continued positive support for our young men and women’s TDN team members.

On another front, we are having very nice team supporter shirts produced. The graphics will be a Trials specific theme. We really wanted these to also reflect our commitment of support, having a very eye catching design that people will want to purchase and at the same time feel good about supporting the team.

In closing, I want to thank the numerous people who have helped us get this far. Without them, it would be a much more difficult journey. Our next goal is to get the shirts completed and available for purchase. Another larger project will be to align with a sponsor where our men and women riders will be outfitted in Team riding clothes, further putting forward the professionalism that we want to convey.

Until next time, thank you all for your support.

Sincerely Yours In Trials
Kip Webb
